DHEA
DHEA (or Dehydroepiandrosterone) Is a Powerful and Important Hormone. Regular exercise is known to increase DHEA production in the body. Calorie restriction has also been shown to increase DHEA in primates. Some theorize that the increase in endogenous DHEA brought about by calorie restriction is partially responsible for the longer life expectancy known to be associated with calorie restriction.

Dhea (or Dehydroepiandrosterone) Is a Powerful and Important Hormone:
In Men, Around 50% of Testosterone Is Derived from It;
in Women, over 75% of Estrogen Is Derived from It.
And, This Number Increases to Almost 100% POST-MENOPAUSE. |

Investigators Interested in the Biology of Aging Have Increasingly Focused Their Attention on the Steroids Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and DHEA Sulfate (DHEAS).
When Consumed, DHEA Is Metabolized in the Liver, and a Significant Percentage Is Converted to DHEAS.
THE Interest in DHEA and DHEAS Stems from Observations That Circulating Levels of These Hormones Exert Beneficial Actions But Exhibit a Unique Age-Related Decline.
Therefore, Some Changes Associated with Aging Are Postulated to Be Due to a Relative Decline in Circulating DHEA and DHEAS.
SECRETION of DHEA from the Adrenal Cortex Is Very High in a Fetus, Drops Sharply after Birth to Very Low Levels in Childhood, Rises Again Before Puberty and Reaches Peak Levels in Young Adulthood.
It Has Been Conclusively Shown That During Adulthood DHEA and DHEAS Levels in Both Sexes Decrease at a Relatively Constant Rate of 2% Per Year. Hence, at Age 80 Levels Are Only About 20% of Those at Age 25.
AT All Ages, the Interindividual Variability Is Very High, and Thus the Normal Range of Serum Levels Is Extensive. For Example, One Man at Age 65 Could Have Levels Three Times Higher Than Another Man of Identical AGE.
SUPPLEMENTATION with DHEA: The Objective of Supplementation with DHEA Is to Maintain Levels Approximating Those Occurring During Early Adulthood.
However, Excessive Amounts of DHEA Can Have Undesirable Effects. Therefore, It Is Important to Ensure That the Amount of DHEA Consumed Is Not Excessive. |

DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is the most abundant steroid in the blood stream produced mainly in the adrenal glands.
DHEA is the biochemical building block for the synthesis of other hormones.
DHEA may be used for immune system dysfunction, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, arthritis, anti-aging and auto-immune diseases.
Use as a dietary supplement:
DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is a steroidal hormone produced by the adrenal gland.
DHEA is converted into other male or female hormones, as needed depending on one's age, gender, and health status.
Internal production of DHEA declines with age, particularly after the age of 40.
Maintenance of normal DHEA levels is associated with maintaining healthy mood, libido, and bone health.
DHEA helps maintain healthy immune function and cardiovascular health.
Primary Uses: Anti-aging & longevity, mood, and libido.
Secondary Uses: Cardiovascular health, immune support, bone health. |

Animal research indicates that 7-Keto a natural metabolite of DHEA, is a more active inducer of thermogenic enzymes than DHEA.
Research on humans has shown that supplementation with 7-Keto is well tolerated.
It is not converted to estrogens or androgens, a point of concern for many people.
Possible side effects include:
acne, hair loss, hair growth on the face (in women), aggressiveness, irritability, and increased levels of estrogen.
Discontinue use and call a physician or licensed qualified health care professional immediately if you experience rapid heartbeat, dizziness, blurred vision, or other similar symptoms. |

7-Keto DHEA is a naturally occurring metabolite of DHEA.
It is unable to metabolize into sex hormones; therefore, it can provide many of the same benefits of DHEA without its associated side effects.
In the body, 7-Keto DHEA is responsible for activating enzymes responsible for fatty acid and carbohydrate metabolism.
The body's production of 7-Keto DHEA declines with age, which is directly correlated with a decline in metabolic rate.
Clinical studies of 7-Keto DHEA demonstrated increases in metabolic rate and improvement in body mass index. |

DHEA
DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is produced naturally in the body by the adrenal glands and is the sole precursor and regulator for the natural production of every steroid and sex hormone in the body.
In other words, without ample amounts of DHEA, the body may not be able to produce healthy levels of all other hormones it needs for a healthy life.
HEALTH CONDITIONS ADDRESSED BY DHEA: Accelerated Natural Production of Many Hormones, Improved Memory Capability, Increased Muscle Mass.
The biochemical building block for the synthesis of other hormones is DHEA.

DHEA
5-Dehydroepiandrosterone (5-DHEA) is an endogenous steroid that has been implicated in a broad range of biological effects in humans and other mammals.
DHEA is produced by adrenal glands, but also synthesized de novo in the brain.
It acts on the androgen receptor both directly and through its metabolites, which include androstenediol and androstenedione, which can undergo further conversion to produce the androgen testosterone and the estrogensestrone and estradiol.
DHEA is also a potent sigma-1 agonist. It is considered a neurosteroid.
In contrast to the non-beneficial effects of DHEA on memory in the elderly, a randomised UK study found that a 7-day course of DHEA (150 mg twice daily) improved episodic memory in healthy young men.
In this study, DHEA was also shown to improve subjective mood and decrease evening cortisol concentration, which is known to be elevated in depression.
The effect of DHEA on memory appeared to be related to an early activation of the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) and it was suggested this was due to neuronal recruitment of the steroid sensitive ACC that may be involved in pre-hippocampal memory processing. *
